Accreditation for ISO/IEC 17029:2019 Conformity assessment — General principles and requirements for validation and verification bodies
Green House Gases-(ISO 14065, ISO 14064-3, ISO 14066) for ISO 14064-1, ISO 14064-2
It provides a framework for the operation of validation and verification bodies (V/VBs) that assess claims or statements, such as greenhouse gas (GHG) assertions, environmental performance, or sustainability reports, ensuring their credibility, impartiality, and competence.
ASIB Accreditation for Greenhouse Gas (GHG)
Global Recognition: Accreditation by an IAF member ensures results are trusted in international markets, critical for GHG programs or carbon trading.
Credibility: Enhances the V/VB’s reputation and client confidence in validation/verification outcomes.
Market Access: Enables participation in regulated or voluntary schemes requiring third-party verification.
Assurance of competence and best practices
What is ISO 14064?
ISO 14064 is an international standard that provides a framework for organizations to quantify, monitor, report, and verify greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions and removals. It is part of the broader ISO 14060 family of standards focused on GHG management and helps organizations demonstrate transparency, credibility, and accountability in their climate-related activities. The standard is voluntary and applicable to both private and public sector entities of any size, supporting efforts to address climate change, comply with regulations, and participate in carbon markets.
ISO 14064 consists of three parts, each addressing a specific aspect of GHG management:
ISO 14064-1:2018Greenhouse gases — Part 1: Specification with guidance at the organization level for quantification and reporting of greenhouse gas emissions and removals
ISO 14064-2:2019Greenhouse gases — Part 2: Specification with guidance at the project level for quantification, monitoring and reporting of greenhouse gas emission reductions or removal enhancements
ISO 14064-3:2019Greenhouse gases — Part 3: Specification with guidance for the verification and validation of greenhouse gas statements
